Venerable offers historic preservation consulting with a range of services available including tax credit incentive programs. In recent projects, we’ve combined the Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit and the New Markets Tax Credit for redevelopment. These credits are beneficial to historic rehabilitation projects, when the owner partners with an investor (such as a bank or large corporation), who makes an equity contribution to the project in exchange for the historic tax credits. Because many historic properties are located in low-income areas, they also qualify for New Markets Tax Credits designed to promote investment in under served neighborhoods. Our company history in Portland dates to 1991 when Art DeMuro combined his extensive real estate background with his passion for historic preservation to form Venerable. Our firm is committed to preserving and revitalizing Oregon’s historical resources and heritage in the projects selected.
